Reconciliation Action Plan
The Glennie School is proud to acknowledge its relationships with the Traditional Custodians of the
Land. We recognise the injustices faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, including
the social, political, economic and educational disparities resulting from colonisation. Our focus now
shifts to a shared vision for the future, fostering connection, respect and understanding. Our initial
challenge lies within. Developing staff, student and community understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and languages, while establishing culturally appropriate practices throughout the School. We aim to make a positive impact through inclusive respectful learning experiences, open dialogue and rigorous conversation.
The Glennie School is committed to providing an environment that is free from discrimination and that offers opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to access and succeed in an exceptional education. By strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we support students in a community that values First Nations cultures, languages and histories. This Reconciliation Action Plan is a living document, embodying The Glennie School’s ongoing commitment to maintaining relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families. Education is key to unlocking Australia’s youth potential, enabling informed, positive contributions that shape a better future for all generations. We strive to create a diverse, accepting community that values inclusivity and respect.
