This week, I have been in Cloncurry attending the State Conference of the Isolated Children's Parents Association. This organisation works so hard to advocate with Government and other agencies, for the families of many of our boarders. It was important to hear first hand the issues and difficulties many of our rural families are facing on a daily basis. Both the Minister for Education, Honourable Kate Jones MP and the Shadow Minister, Honourable Tim Mander MP were in attendance at times during the conference.

The sense of hope and determination of rural families, to bring about change in providing the best for their families, is to be commended. It was terrific to catch up with some of our families on their 'home turf' and I thank them all and the ICPA Cloncurry Branch for their hospitality.
