Head of Boarding

The Glennie School is accepting applications for the Head of Boarding. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dynamic approach to the care and wellbeing of girls in grades 5 to12.
It is our mission to provide our boarding students with best-practice care and wellbeing. Continuing to drive success measures and implement effective leadership through the use of well-developed communication strategies. The ability to relate well to students and families from rural and regional backgrounds is essential. The Head of Boarding is responsible for all operational and welfare requirements of the students and staff within the boarding house and reports directly to the Director of Wellbeing. The Head of Boarding also works closely with, and keeps fully informed, the Deputy Principal, and is supported in particular by Boarding Supervisors, Boarding Mothers, and Boarding Managers.

The successful applicant will be efficient, professional, and friendly. Creating an environment for our students to thrive in modern and progressive surroundings that encourages all students to strive to be the best she can be. There is a requirement that the Head of Boarding have teaching
qualifications and the teaching load for this role will be able to be negotiated. Current First Aid
qualifications will be highly regarded. Current Blue Card or exemption is required prior to
commencement.

Boarding Supervisor - Non-Residential

The Glennie School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, capable, and responsible person who invests in making a positive difference to the boarding lives of Glennie girls within the nurturing
environment of the Glennie School’s Boarding Houses. This position requires an applicant
who enjoys working with young adolescents, with the ability to problem-solve, take a
commonsense approach to student issues, and one who can be proactive in their approach.
Two positions are available.

Boarding staff are role models for the girls and thus it is essential that you exhibit positive
standards in every respect of your role. Your ability to work well with others and
communicate effectively will be key to your success in this role. You will also play an
important role in supporting the academic needs of the students. The duties involve
supervision and tutoring of boarding students to enable the girls to be all ‘she can be’.
Reporting to the Head of Boarding, this position is a permanent, part-time, term-time position
commencing in Term 4, 2021 and as an ongoing position. It incorporates evening work and
some weekend work including overnight shifts. Current First Aid qualifications will be highly
regarded. Current Blue Card or exemption is required prior to commencement.

Extra-Curricular Dance Teacher

An enthusiastic and innovative Extra-Curricular Dance Teacher is required with current
Royal Academy of Dance Registered Teacher Status (RAD:RTS) who will be responsible for
providing dynamic performance and exam opportunities while enhancing the capabilities
of students within The Glennie School Dance Program. A working knowledge of the full
Royal Academy of Dance Syllabi would be highly regarded. Experience in teaching other
dance styles such as Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap will be also highly regarded but
not mandatory.

The Glennie School Curricular and Extra-Curricular Dance Program provides girls from
Kindergarten to Year 12 with teaching, exams and performance opportunities in styles
such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Hip Hop. The program has grown
exponentially over the last two years and now offers over thirty classes weekly with the
capacity to further expand in the future.

This position is a contract, part-time, term-time position (1-25 hours per week)
commencing as soon as possible with some additional hours required in the school
holidays. Salary will be negotiated and based on qualifications, skills and experiences.

The successful applicant must be supportive of the ethos of Anglican Schools, be registered
with the Royal Academy of Dance and must hold a current paid Working with Children
“Blue Card” or “Exemption Card”, as appropriate, prior to your commencement date.

Digital and Media Designer

We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Digital and Media Designer to join our strategic
marketing team. This is a newly created position that requires the successful candidate to have demonstrated experience in designing and executing interactive and creative experiences that drive customer-focused outcomes across key channels (enrolments, fundraising and community relations).
The candidate will have experience and a fresh approach to developing creative, high converting digital communications collateral and branded material for The Glennie School and our affiliated groups. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Digital and Media Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining Glennie’s digital and visual presence. Another strong emphasis of the role is excellent verbal/written communication and administrative skills.
Glennie also uses a range of educational and data platforms. We encourage you to highlight any relevant experience in the following list, however, please note that training will be provided to the successful candidate if necessary.
Success Measures:
● Be comfortable working within brand guidelines (colors, fonts, etc.)
● Be able to follow creative briefs
● Possess proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite
● Photography and videography experience
● Digital and web development, building and management experience
● Experience with CRM and digital communication platforms
● A great eye for typography for digital and print layout
● Experience with video and photography editing
● PC and Mac platform experience
● Be able to multitask
● Manage time efficiently
● Education: Advanced Diploma or Degree in Design, Media or Communications or Higher,
and/or other relevant experience.
This is a permanent, full-time position, commencing October 2021. The rate of pay will be
commensurate with the successful applicant's skills and expertise. The expected remuneration
will be based on competitive industry rates.
