Receptionist to the Secondary School

Part-time, permanent position  

The Glennie School, located in Toowoomba, is a leading K-12 Anglican girls’ day and boarding school.  Established in 1908, the School has a proud reputation for providing a well-rounded education that enables students to learn, flourish and be happy in all aspects of their lives. 

We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic person, who is well-organised, thrives in a team environment and will deliver professional excellent customer service. You will possess the ability for clear thinking and provide easily understood advice. With personal characteristics of energy, integrity, enthusiasm and reliability, you will have the ability to be multi-tasked, enjoy learning new and varied tasks and working in an environment that relies on the use of technology.

The position is one of two Receptionists who have the vital role in creating an exceptional and completely favourable first impression with the customer, in person or during telephone contact.  Your warm manner and empathetic personality provides a sincere welcome to parents, students, staff and guests of the School and also provides assistance to help people with their enquiries. 

As part of the Finance and Administration department for the School, this position also provides assistance to various functions within the department including cash receipting, banking, data entry of student charging, internal and external mail plus outside school hours care charging.

The position is a permanent, part-time position working 4 hours per day Monday to Friday commencing 6 January 2020. One week you will be working from 8:00am to 12:00pm and the following week you will be working 12:30pm to 4:30pm.  From time to time by agreement, there will be a requirement to work full days whilst the other Receptionist takes leave.

The successful applicant must be supportive and sympathetic to the ethos of Anglican Schools and have a current Blue Card or their application in process.

Boarding House Supervisor (non-residential)

Part-time, term-time position

The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing exceptional education for prep, primary and secondary students with boarding from Year 6. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication and professionalism of its staff. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, capable, responsible person who will enjoy making a positive difference to the boarding lives for Glennie girls in the nurturing environment of the Glennie School’s Boarding Houses. As a member of the Glennie boarding community, you will play an important role in creating a positive, supportive and welcoming culture which encourages full participation in the academic and extracurricular programs within the School. 

Our boarding house is truly a home away from home and the Boarding House Supervisor needs to ensure that, as in any home, the girls are cared for and supported in all aspects of their lives with a kind, guiding, and firm hand as they strive to be all they can be.

The School is looking for a part-time Boarding House Supervisor (non-residential) commencing as soon as possible. This position incorporates evening work and some weekend work including an overnight.

A current First Aid qualification will be highly regarded and the successful applicant will be expected to undertake Duty of Care training.

Club G Sports Coach and/or Coordinator

2020 contract, part-time, term-time positions

The Glennie School, located in Toowoomba, is a leading K-12 Anglican girls’ day and boarding school.  Established in 1908, the School has a proud reputation for providing a well-rounded education that enables students to learn, flourish and be happy in all aspects of their lives.

We are seeking to appoint the following enthusiastic, capable and responsible team members who will support the Glennie students by coordinating, including performing related administrative duties, coaching and/or umpiring teams as per the 2020 Glennie Schools Sporting Program:

  • Futsal Coach and/or Coordinator (Term 1 & Term 4)

  • Touch Coach (Term 1 & Term 4)

  • Football Coach and/or Coordinator (Term 2 & Term 3)

  • Netball Coach (Term 2 & Term 3)

  • AFL Coach and/or Coordinator (Term 2 & Term 3)

  • Rugby 7s Coach (Term 3 & Term 4)

  • Athletics Coach (Term 1, 2, 3 & 4)

These are contract, term-time, part-time positions during the 2020 school year with a maximum of 10 hours per week. The predominately Monday to Friday roster will vary from term to term, depending on the sport on offer with working hours either before or after school. The current hourly base pay rate ranges from $22.17 to $25.17 plus entitlements depending on qualifications and experience. Superannuation is also entitled at either 9.5% or 12.75% depending on employee contribution.

Appropriate sport/coaching related qualification (min. L1), and a proven record of providing a high standard of coaching and training program designed will be highly regarded. Experience in coaching students of all school age is desirable and a current first aid qualification is necessary.

Secondary English Teacher 

Contract, part-time, Term 1 2020 position

The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing exceptional education for prep, primary and secondary students with boarding from Year 6. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication and professionalism of its staff. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, capable and dynamic Secondary English teacher. This position is a contract, part-time position for Term 1 2020 with the possibility to extend.

The successful applicant must be supportive of the ethos of Anglican Schools and must either be eligible for teacher registration or have registration with the Queensland College of Teachers. 

Successful applicants are expected to contribute to the School extra-curricular program.
