Acting Head of Department - English

2021 full-time, contract maternity leave cover position

The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing exceptional education for prep, primary and secondary students with boarding from Year 5. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication and professionalism of its staff. 

We are seeking to appoint a capable and dynamic Acting Head of Department - English, with a deep knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabi, and the capacity to lead staff in the development and implementation of English programs and projects.

You will be responsible for the leadership of teachers and the day-to-day management and coordination of the English Department. This includes managing change, developing teacher capacity and enhancing the interest and capability of girls in English from Years 7 to 12. 

The Acting Head of Department - English role is a full-time, one-year contract position commencing in Term 1, 2021. The Senior English and Literature Teacher component of the position has the potential to extend beyond the 2021 school year.

The successful applicant must be supportive of the ethos of Anglican Schools and must either be eligible for teacher registration or have registration with the Queensland College of Teachers. 

Successful applicants are expected to contribute to the School extra-curricular program.

Secondary Music Teacher 

Term 1, 2021 contract, full-time - Long Service leave cover

The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing exceptional education for prep, primary and secondary students with boarding from Year 5. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication and professionalism of its staff. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, capable and dynamic Music teacher. This position is a contract, full-time, Long Service leave cover position for Term 1 2021.

The successful applicant must be supportive of the ethos of Anglican Schools and must either be eligible for teacher registration or have registration with the Queensland College of Teachers. 

Successful applicants are expected to contribute to the School extra-curricular program.
