Why are you passionate about girls education?
It is very important to me that girls understand that they can achieve anything that they put their mind to. Girls must have a voice. The passion and drive that girls have, particularly within my area of The Arts, never ceases to amaze me. The Arts offers girls opportunities to succeed and to express their thoughts, opinions and ideas.
What sets Glennie apart from the other schools?
Glennie is based upon relationships and opportunities. Glennie is a school grounded in its history, yet driven toward the future with its love of technology. The relationships it has with its Old Girls and the roles they play combined with the connections Glennie has with its students sets it apart from other schools. The fact so many Old Girls return to events like the Glennie Fair demonstrates this connection. Glennie is filled with opportunities in so many areas, allowing our students to truly be All She Can Be®.
What are your professional achievements and roles?
Head of Department - The Arts
The Glennie Jazz Ensemble Director
The Glennie Big Band Conductor
One of my favourite achievements was conducting the Grammar/Glennie Big Band and Grammar/Glennie Orchestra on the combined Music tour with Toowoomba Grammar School to Europe in 2012. Of the many highlights, conducting the Big Band at The Montreux Jazz Fest and the Orchestra at the Bratislava Youth Festival were incredible moments.
