Year 5 Emu Gully Day

On Friday, 13 November the Year 5 girls travelled to Emu Gully for a day of teamwork and leadership.  The girls participated in activities to help them work together, build resilience and face their fears.  Highlights of the day included the tunnel and bridge activities, along with the ever popular ‘Kokoda Track’ mud pits.  A big thank you to Mrs Harrison and Mrs Reukers for accompanying us on the day. Please enjoy some of the girls' reflections below.

A word from the girls

I loved Emu Gully. It was so fun. It challenged me, pushed me to my limits, and made me feel brave.

It was quite challenging going through some of the tunnels, but I conquered my fears and did it. I also liked working with my friends to get us through the challenges. The mud was stinky but I liked it!

I liked how we got to face our fears of tight spaces like the tunnels. The mud was very squishy and thick. We had to work together with our partners to cross the bridge. Emu Gully was a lot of fun!

Some of the challenges were scary, but once you had a go at them, they were really fun. You realised that you could do them. I enjoyed the Tunnel Rats of Vietnam. There were lots of little obstacles in the tunnel that made it a good challenge.
