Year 10 is an important time for future pathways planning, and as part of The Glennie School’s individualised approach to careers and vocational education, all girls will participate in Senior Education and Training Planning (SET Planning). The girls have already commenced working on their plans in student activity sessions, drawing on the career exploration they began in Be Real Get Set last year. They have reviewed their results from their Career Profiling and explored their strengths, values and abilities.
Individual SET Plan meetings will focus on how the girls can use their learning and career interests to guide their senior schooling pathways including subject selection, vocational options and extension programs such as USQ’s Head Start. Of course, a SET Plan is just a plan. And we know that plans change. However, considering possible options now ensures that the girls are making well-informed decisions that keep options open for them at the completion of Year 12.
An email has been sent to all Year 10 students and parents with information on how to book their meeting time. If you can not find a suitable time, or if you have any questions about the SET Planning process, please do not hesitate to call (4688 8852) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org). I look forward to meeting with you all this term.
