On Wednesday, 12 February, a small group of students from our Year 11 and 12 Dance class was elected to attend the first 'Surge Dance Day' at the Empire Theatre. This day was a collaboration between educators in the regions, The Curious Arts Festival, Prying Eye Productions and local dance artists.
The conference-style event saw more than 80 students from nine schools across the region participate in activities and workshops relevant to the next task they are undertaking as part of their senior studies.
The event was a great success designed to prepare students for their IA2 Dance Choreography task. The girls were inspired by the creativity and quality of each of the presenters, allowing for a fun and challenging day. Both teachers and organisers are hoping that this will become an annual event.
