On Tuesday, 1 June, the First Nations girls were invited to a breakfast at St Saviour’s College to acknowledge Reconciliation Week. While it was a very early start, the girls were enthusiastic. There were a number of schools present, including St Mary’s College and Fairholme College. The students were treated to a special breakfast, guest speaker and the opportunity to share their cultural experiences with each other. Most importantly, it was a time of connection. The First Nations students shared their songs and dances. Anna Dingley spoke a powerful message about what Reconciliation looks like and we saw the action of “the opportunity to connect with our wider community and to educate and reconcile with each other”. We sincerely enjoyed our morning and are very grateful to St Saviour’s for hosting the morning and allowing our students to share the experience.
