Last weekend, Mr Paul Holley OAM, visited The Wendy Ashley-Cooper Performing Arts Centre to conduct a series of choral workshops with our Middle and Senior Years choirs.
Touring nationally and internationally, Mr Holley is Associate Director of Voices of Birralee and conductor of two ensembles - the Birralee Blokes and Resonance of Birralee. His warmth and passion for choral music are inspiring to youth choirs.
In addition to these roles, Paul is a Principal Conductor of the national youth choir, Gondwana Chorale, and co-conductor of the national youth choir, Gondwana Chorale, that in January 2019 toured the UK and the Baltics, and previously toured the UK, USA and NZ.
In 2016, Mr Holley was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his fine work with Australian youth choirs and students and staff were fortunate to have him visit Glennie for these workshops.
‘It was an honour for us to have a highly acclaimed conductor work with our choristers. They worked on vocal technique and choral blend as well as exploring new repertoire and building their ensemble skills,’ said Mrs Jayne Davidson, The Glennie School Director of Performance - Middle and Senior Years.
