Helen and Gostwyck Streets Intersection upgrade - closure of intersection until mid-October

Toowoomba Regional Council has received funding through the National Road Safety Strategy - Black Spot Program (BSP) to upgrade the intersection of Helen and Gostwyck Streets, Newtown.  Council aims to improve the safety of the intersection by installing a roundabout at the intersection.

Construction on this project will commence on Monday 10 June 2019 and is anticipated to be completed by mid-October, weather permitting.

The upgrade will involve a full temporary closure of the intersection of Helen and Gostwyck Streets for the duration of the works. Traffic management and detour routes will be in place during construction. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during construction.

As a route frequented by school traffic as well as buses, can you please pass onto the relevant people within your organisation and also note the closure for emergency services.

If you have any queries about the project please contact the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team on: 4688 6768.
