Chess chat

Last weekend five Glennie girls competed in the 2019 Toowoomba District Secondary School Teams Chess Championships. The competition ran for 2 days, and over 20 teams participated from all around Toowoomba.

Thrill and determination was uncontainable as players, Rheanca Lincoln (Year 8), Sandali Gange (Year 10), Apoorva Abeysundera (Year 10), Rishini Thilakpriya (Year 8) and Colleen Beahan (Grade 8) battled it out opponent by opponent. It was a fantastic time for the girls and their chess, and the experience helped remind them and the Toowoomba community what Chess is all about - having fun.

Sincere gratitude to Mr Lord for his assistance in coaching and to Ms Lee for her support and brain food!
