All Glennie girls from Prep to Year 12 enjoy a variety of aquatic activities during their time at Glennie, including Learn to Swim, Water Polo, Lifesaving, synchronised swimming, aqua aerobics and more.

Junior Years

For Prep, Year 1 and Year 2, fully qualified Learn to Swim instructors conduct lessons for 30-45 minutes, once a week in Term 1 and 4.  The girls are encouraged to become confident and happy swimmers.

Middle Years

In Years 7 to 9, all girls attend swimming lessons once a week in Terms 1 and 4.  Lessons vary from basic swimming skills to training for Aquathons, water safety and lifesaving skills.  Girls learn to swim all four strokes - freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke.

Senior Years

Senior girls in Years 10 to 12 have the opportunity to participate in water polo, synchronised swimming and Aquafit.  Regular swimming is also incorporated into Health and Fitness classes.

Learn to Swim and Squads

Parent and Baby
This program is available during the morning for children from 6 months to 3 years.  Lessons are 30 minutes in duration and aim to provide fun and routine, allowing children to become familiar and confident in the water.swimmer_2

Learn to Swim
Catering for babies from six months old through to adults, we have a level to suit any swimmer.  Lessons are 30 minutes in duration, with low swimmer to instructor ratios for the lower levels.  Advanced learners have lessons for 45 minutes and the Mini Squad for 60 minutes.

Squads
Our squads are open to the wider community and range from Junior to Senior.  Squads swim all year round to maintain fitness and techniques whilst participating in pool and dry land training. Squad training for Glennie girls is free.

All programs operate throughout the year and are available to Glennie families and the wider community. Some programs have a break for the school holidays.
