Winter uniform

20 April 2018

Have you checked your daughter’s winter uniform? Girls will require these immediately after the May long weekend. GOSS has all requirements that you may need if she has grown since last year. Thank you for your support in making sure that your daughter is prepared for this changeover.

A reminder that girls from Years 4 to 6 are required to have a blazer for all excursions or formal occasions, but may wear it any day. Girls in lower levels must have their jumper but may, of course wear a blazer as well. Although grey socks form part of the winter uniform, navy tights may be worn if the weather is exceptionally cold.

Before and After Kindergarten Care

A very exciting initiative for Glennie is the introduction of before and after Kindergarten care. The process for approval is complex and involves our Regional Council as well as the State and Federal Governments.

We are hopeful that this service will be up and running for the beginning of Term 2. I will keep families updated on the status of this service approval.

Junior Years Carpark

16 March 2018

Parents are reminded that the roadway on Anzac Avenue leading into the Junior Years carpark, has a NO STANDING sign. If parents queue there, they risk a fine if police are patrolling the area.

Parents who wait at the drop-off zone cause a backlog at the carpark entrance, placing other parents at risk of a fine. Please support us by moving on if your daughter is not ready to be collected when you drive up to the drop-off zone. If she is there, please be quick getting her into your vehicle and moving off.

No Standing!

2 March 2018

Thanks to parents who have been moving on in the carpark when their daughters are not ready. It is a great help. We cannot allow vehicles to be stopped on the street due to congestion at the drop-off. There is a No Standing zone on the street, so parents need to move on along Anzac Avenue rather than risk a fine for stopping.

Junior Years Car park

16 February 2018

There have been some issues with congestion in the car park in the afternoons between the times of 3:15 and 3:30pm. Please do not park in the drop-off zone and wait for your daughter. Girls take a few minutes to move from their classes to the carpark, so realistically, they do not arrive at 3:15pm. If parents park in the drop-off it translates into queues along Anzac Avenue.

We ask that if you arrive at the drop-off and if your daughter is not ready, please move on and go around the block and back. We apologise for any inconvenience, but for the greater good, it should alleviate some issues. There is a staff member on duty until 3:45pm so we encourage you to come a little later if possible.
