Meet Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine creator, Professor Ian Frazer

On Friday, 9 October 2015, Professor Ian Frazer, creator of the HPV vaccine and Australian of the year 2006, will present his views on the importance of medical research, cancer control and what we can do to live long and healthy lives at a Gala Fundraising Evening. The event will be hosted by The Lions Club of Toowoomba – Wilsonton Inc and Rachel Hohn, Lions Medical Research Personality Quest entrant at Downlands College and you are invited to attend.

Ian is recognised as co-inventor of the HPV vaccines, currently used worldwide to help prevent cervical cancer and HPV related cancers. Secondary school aged children and many others in Australia and across the world are recipients of this vaccine to protect them against a range of cancers and disease caused by Human Papilloma virus (HPV).
