14 August 2015
From Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August, two senior Glennie teams competed in the annual Queensland Volleyball Schools Cup competition. The tournament was held in Toowoomba, with teams travelling from all over Queensland to compete at eight venues.
The Glennie Senior 1 team played at Harristown State High School in the Open Girls Division 1. They played a total of six games over the weekend. Playing in a tough pool, the quality of these games was very high and there were many close matches. All girls are to be commended on both how they played and their ability to work as a team. A huge thank you goes to Miss Mitchell for assisting in organising the Glennie teams, as well as our coach Mrs Hede and our American gap student Miss Roberson who shared her knowledge of the game throughout the weekend. A massive thanks must also go to the large number of parents who were there to support both teams.
The Glennie Senior 2 team played at Fairholme in the Open Girls Division 2. It was a brilliant weekend and it was great to see the support and enthusiasm that the girls had for one another. It was a fantastic experience as we got the chance to develop our skills both individually and as a squad. We played against very talented teams who challenged us and pushed us to improve.
Congratulations to all the girls who competed. It was a great opportunity and I am proud of you all!
