To keep parents informed of important information regarding their dauther's education, regular information sessions, forums and seminars are held throughout the year. These events are advertised in the weekly GlenniEnews.
Boarder Parent Forums
Boarder Parent Forums are held at the beginning of Terms 2, 3 and 4. Parents can raise issues and have their questions answered. Glennie staff typically in attendance include the Head of School, the Head of Middle and Senior Years, senior boarding staff and the P & F President. Parents are encouraged to submit agenda items.
Parent Information Events
Junior Years conducts a parent information evening at the start of the academic year. Additional parent information evenings are held for Prep and for Kindergarten. Parents with girls in Middle Years can attend a Middle School Information evening during Term 1. Senior Years girls and their parents can attend information evenings on subject choices and the QCS assessment process. A Boarder information afternoon is held in October for all girls entering boarding in the following year. Introduction Day is held the following day for all girls, day and boarding entering Glennie the following year. Orientation Day is held before the first day of Term 1 for all new students.
Other information events for parents held throughout the year include the University Showcase, the Schoolies Showcase, and the French Immersion Information Evening. Parents of girls accepted for scholarship testing attend a school tour and information session on the day of their daughter’s testing.
Junior Years open their doors to parents considering a Glennie education for their daughter. Open Days showcase the Junior Years facilities and give prospective parents an opportunity to talk to the staff.
The Middle School Experience Day is held for girls entering middle school. Parents attend the School with their daughters to see what Middle School at Glennie is like.
