Boarding at Glennie

Boarding at Glennie

The Glennie School boarding community is a place where girls flourish.

For generations, families across rural, regional and remote Australia have chosen The Glennie School for the opportunities, care and sense of belonging that define life in Glennie boarding.

Glennie boarders are empowered to grow in confidence, independence and resilience within a nurturing environment where every girl is genuinely known, valued and cared for. Our beautiful grounds and open spaces provide the perfect link between the city and the country.

Dedicated boarding staff, including Heads of Year and Senior Boarding Supervisors, provide family-like support to boarders.

Our on-campus Health Centre is staffed by caring nurses, with doctors and allied health professionals on call, and regularly visiting the School for planned appointments.

Senior boarders

Senior boarders are given more independence, responsibility, and leadership opportunities within the boarding house. This is designed to promote characteristics required to live in a larger community. The responsibility is the perfect preparation for life at university.

Social activities

The Boarder Enrichment Program ensures boarders have the opportunity to discover new passions, create memories, and forge friendships through activities and events.

At the conclusion of each school day, boarders have free time to participate in extracurricular activities including sport, music lessons, rehearsals, and gym sessions.

During weekends, students embrace a variety of activities, including trips throughout the Darling Downs, sporting events, cinemas, movie nights, shopping, and local entertainment.

Study assistance

The Boarders Prep Program provides one-on-one study assistance to boarders, with talented tutors creating a learning culture focused on individual achievement and success.
