Our scholarship program makes a Glennie education a reality for as many girls as possible. 

 

We know that by choosing an independent school you are making a significant investment in your daughter's future. Through our scholarship program, we make a Glennie education a reality for as many girls as possible.

Glennie offers a number of scholarships, across different categories, providing part remission for tuition fees (up to 50%). In some cases, part remission for boarding fees may also be provided.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2023

Applications for scholarships for entry in 2023 open on Monday, 1 November 2021 and close at 12:00 midnight (AEDST) on Friday, 18 February 2022.  The scholarship test will be held on Saturday, 5 March 2022.

Applying for a Glennie Scholarship

Applications open in November each year with testing taking place in early March for admission in the following year. To register for the Edutest scholarship test, please visit:

EDUTEST

  • Students may apply for more than one category, however, only one scholarship will be awarded per girl. All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal, are subject to an annual review and must be kept confidential.
  • Non-Glennie students must apply to the School no less than two weeks prior to the Scholarship testing day. Apply to The Glennie School NOW.
  • Scholarship testing is administered by an external provider and supervised by Glennie teachers on test day.
  • The Glennie School does not publish or share examination results with applicants. The Glennie School does not provide nor endorse any service provider offering practice exams for the scholarship tests.
  • Students’ progress will be evaluated annually and, where expectations have not been met, the student will be asked to justify the continuance of their scholarship.
  • Please note that if a year level is ‘full’, successful scholarship recipients will be placed on a waitlist for the next available position.  If you wish for your daughter to be enrolled at The Glennie School, please do not wait until the scholarship process has been completed as you may miss out on a place.

General Ability Scholarships

General Ability scholarships are based on all-round ability (a combination of academic, sporting and or cultural talents and evidence of leadership roles) with applicants taking the scholarship test and providing supporting evidence of other abilities to assist their application.

Glennie Sports Academy Scholarship

The Glennie Sports Academy (GSA) Scholarships are available to students who can demonstrate a history of achievement in sport. Applicants are not required to sit the scholarship test however may be asked to demonstrate their ability by attending a Skills and Testing Day and by providing supporting documentation of their achievements. Not all girls will be successful in being invited to the testing day.

Helene Orton Performing Arts Scholarship

The Helene Orton Performing Arts Scholarship is based on talent in the performing arts and results. Applicants are not required to sit the scholarship test however may be asked to demonstrate their dance, music, and drama ability by audition and by providing supporting documentation of their achievements. Not all girls will be successful in gaining an audition.

Glennie Old Girls' Association (GOGA) Scholarship

The Glennie Old Girls' Association (GOGA) and Glennie Parents and Friends' Association each sponsor an academic scholarship awarded to applicants based on the results of the test. In addition to sitting the scholarship test, GOGA scholarship applicants are required to show a previous family connection with the School. For example, the applicant’s mother or grandmother was a past student and their alumni year.

Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA) Scholarships

Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA) scholarships are available to the daughter of a current financial member of the ICPA. The applicant is also required to sit the scholarship test.
