12 February 2016
Last weekend saw the resumption of Chess Club and lessons with Mr Les Lord on Friday night. Girls also enjoyed line dancing following an early dinner on Friday evening. There was card making on Saturday with Mrs Gayle Ash and swimming on Sunday afternoon. In addition to boarding supervision, there is always a lifeguard on duty for the girls when the pool is opened for them on the weekend. Sunday Chapel is a highlight of our week, and the boarders enjoy the time for quiet reflection in addition to Miss Powell's thought provoking and motivating services. Mrs Jo Matherson, Head of Middle Years, was a special guest at dinner, the Year 7 to 9 girls enjoyed getting to know her better.
The Boarding Committee and the junior boarders are currently creating decorations for the Valentine's dinner which will be held on Monday 15 February. Although there will be fun, games and prizes, there is a serious side to the evening with the girls contributing a gold coin towards the Anglican Church's Bush Ministry fund for Lent.
