Last Sunday’s inaugural JazzFest was an outstanding success, showcasing the talents of not only our girls and staff but our parents, too, in organising yet another magnificent function for all members of the Glennie community and beyond to enjoy.
This afternoon highlighted again the dedication of the parent community. JazzFest was the brainchild of Susie and Miles Brodie who worked tirelessly over many weeks to ensure its success. Sincere thanks go to the PASA executive and its many helpers, the sponsors who made this possible and you, the parents who supported this event which truly exceeded all expectations!
The weather was superb, entertainment fantastic and food delicious! Guests enjoyed a leisurely afternoon entertained by the smooth sounds of the Glennie Jazz Ensemble and Big Band, Janelle Fletcher and the Toowoomba Jazz Society Band with Jacob Finlay and the Toowoomba Grammar School R ’n B Band.
The afternoon was a true reflection of our wonderful Glennie Community. Two Moos produced amazing platters. Toni’s Meats, Baker’s Duck and Deli Delicious donated the beautiful local produce and, Anava Cuisine, the sweet treats. With the help of our major sponsors, Struxi, Replica Furniture, Clifford Gouldson Lawyers and Avis Toowoomba, JazzFest raised nearly $11,000. This money has already seen the purchase of 20 new xylophones for the Junior School Music Department.
We can see this being a regular event on the Glennie calendars of the future!
Thank you one and all!
