Why are you passionate about girls education?
Girls can strive to be anything they want to be, choose any career path they are passionate about, in an environment that is free from gender discrimination and one that supports them to be all they can.
What sets Glennie apart from the other schools?
The Junior Years has a warm family feel, where teachers know all the children and their families. Glennie offers a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities like music, dance and gymnastics.
What is something others may not know about you?
I am passionate about helping students with learning disabilities. One of my areas of interest is anxiety and ASD.
What excites you about teaching?
Watching the girls who have been having a light bulb moment, when one of the girls 'gets' a concept. Celebrating the girls' successes and inspiring them to explore and learn.
What do you think the future of teaching looks like?
Teaching will always require a connection with the students and their families. The focus will be on the process and the skills. The learners of the future will be collaborative problem solvers.
What are your professional achievements and roles?
I was nominated for the Teachers Excellence Awards in 2002. I have taught in Prep to Year 7.
