Why are you passionate about girls education?
My professional goal is to help unlock the great potential of our young women. I can't think of a career I would rather be doing.
What sets Glennie apart from the other schools?
We love our students, just how they are, yet strive to empower our girls to be the best version of themselves.
What is something others may not know about you?
I have very poor vision in one eye and use it as an excuse for bad car parking. I have a thing for ferns. I ran a professional photography business for ten years. One of my favourite jobs was teaching at-risk young people at TAFE in Inverell, NSW. I am learning French, poorly. However, this keeps me understanding how new knowledge can be so hard to understand, and in turn, this makes me a better teacher.
What excites you about teaching?
Teaching is learning. Through teaching, the world can be viewed as an exciting place full of incredible potential.
What do you think the future of teaching looks like?
Teaching is about enjoying learning and about relationships. Despite its delivery, be it during traditional class time, a skype session, playing games, or during a basic conversation; teaching, learning, and good relationships will always go hand in hand.
What are your professional achievements and roles?
A quite diverse professional background with experience in environmental science, journalism, photography and teaching multiple subjects to students from Prep up to adult education.
