On Friday, 4 June, the Vicki Wilson Senior Purple and Junior Purple teams competed at the Vicki Wilson Carnival in Toowoomba. Both teams and coaches had a challenging day with the weather at Nell E Robinson courts being less than desirable, testing the girls skills, resilience and attitude. Over the course of the day, the two Glennie teams played with passion and skill. The girls upheld a positive outlook, despite the weather, with the Senior Vicki Wilson team winning an important quarter-final game against Fairholme and the Junior Vicki Wilson team playing with heart against St Joseph’s Toowoomba in their quarter-final. Unfortunately, a loss to Downlands in the Semi-Final led the Senior girls to a 3rd/4th playoff against St Ursula’s. The Junior Vicki Wilson girls watched and cheered on what was an incredibly tight game, however, the girls ended up placing 4th, only going down by one point in this game. The two teams should be proud of their efforts, as I know all the supporters, coaches and staff are! Thank you to the umpires who came to brave the cold and support their Glennie teams.
