Glennie was thrilled to have been able to host pre-Formal arrivals on the Chapel Lawn for our Seniors of 2020, their partners and parents.
Mrs Susan Rollason, the School's Formal Coordinator, worked tirelessly with Mr Russell Baldock, Mrs Shaz Willmington, Mrs Leanne Farrell and Mrs Melissa Galvin, to formulate a plan to host this event to comply with current social distancing requirements.
The girls arrived at the Chapel in their special vehicles and were greeted by long-serving past Head of Junior Years, Mr Steve Warren. Steve played the role of concierge for the afternoon, which was a wonderful surprise for a lot of the girls whom he taught during their time at Junior Years.
The girls enjoyed a red carpet runway experience, including professional photography stations along the way, as they paraded in front of all their peers. It was a wonderful opportunity for all Middle and Senior Years Glennie girls to see their friends in their beautiful formal attire.
Special thank you to Glennie mum, Mrs Danielle Brown, from Pretty Little Events for providing a beautiful balloon photo backdrop for the Seniors to take photos with their friends and family. Range Event Hire assisted with chrome bollards and Jodi from Clifford Park Racecourse assisted with a red carpet.
Mr Daniel Scott and kitchen staff provided drinks and canapes for guests to enjoy. Mrs Jillian Johns and her Hospitality girls assisted with service.
Mr Troy Smith, the School's gardener, worked tirelessly to make Chapel Lawn look amazing, even repaving the rose arbour and adorning it with festoon lighting, to create a magical red carpet entrance for our girls.
An incredible amount of staff volunteered to assist for this event, and special thanks must go to everyone involved, it was a wonderful team effort. A special mention must go to Mr Jason Wisley for the additional effort put into playing Master of Ceremonies to introduce the girls as they arrived.
The girls and their guests then moved onto Picnic Point to enjoy their Senior Formal dinner and some dancing.
Girls, parents and staff truly appreciated the efforts of everyone involved.
