One of the objectives of the Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society (ADFAS) is to inspire young people with an enthusiasm for the arts and to increase awareness of our arts heritage and its conservation. ADFAS Toowoomba upholds this objective through its Young Arts Programme which supports a young person or a number of young people across a variety of arts-related activities through awards, scholarships and grants.
This scholarship is open to all Toowoomba instrumental musicians of school age who have passed Grade 5 and above with a recognized examining board. The winner of the 2019 ADFAS Toowoomba Young Arts Scholarship (Instrumental – piano, strings, woodwind or brass) will be selected by a panel of teachers/tutors as determined by the Queensland Music Teachers Association (QMTA) Toowoomba. The winner will receive a bursary to the value of $500 to be presented following the ADFAS Lecture on Thursday, 26 September. The successful applicant must also be available on this occasion and able to provide a short recital.
Applications close Monday, 19 August (week 6) and forms are available in the PAC Foyer.
