It is with sadness that we pass on the news of the loss of Ann Cochrane. Ann was a nursing sister at Glennie from 1981-1988.
Ann is remembered fondly by Old Girls and past staff alike. Our "100 Years of Friendship" books tells us: 'Another stabilising, comforting yet necessary and highly desirable influence on the girls of The Glenne (but particularly the boarders) during the Stone years was the ongoing tenure of the two school sisters...[Sister A Cochrane and Sister M Harris]...who, in addition to dispensing the necessary cures for those ailing, were always available to talk the talk that was often a serious need for those girls who were living far from home and who were seeking a confidante beyond the realm of the teaching, resident, clerical or spiritual staff.'
Our thoughts are with Ann's family and friends at this sad time.
