Three Glennie mums organised a training day for the Glennie Equestrian girls, in preparation for this coming weekend's Darling Downs Championships 10-12 May at the Dalby Showgrounds. Kelly Stenzel, Kirsty Ferguson and Michelle Griffiths invited coaches on the Labour Day public holiday last weekend, to attend a day of coaching clinics in the disciplines of Dressage, Showman and Showhorse. Karen Crommelin shared her dressage expertise with the girls, with girls getting the opportunity to practice and have their tests critiqued on an arena. Glennie Old Parent Therese Higgins taught the girls how to prepare a horse for presentation in competition, including plaiting, make-up and tips when adding a false tail. Glennie Old Girl and 2012 Equestrian Captain, Brooke Higgins, spent the day instructing the girls on how to gain the best marks for both led and ridden tests for Showman and Showhorse events. The team came together for a special morning tea and BBQ lunch to celebrate the upcoming birthday of one of their youngest riders, Scarlett Gordon. The day was hosted by the Willmington family. Spectators are welcome to head out to Dalby this weekend and cheer on our Glennie team
