Our boarding community has been very busy with lots of excursions and activities in recent weeks and have remained in positive spirits this term. Below are two reports from students who have attended excursions last week.
Festival of the Lights
On Friday evening several of the girls took an excursion to Southbank in Brisbane to see the Festival of Lights. It was a lovely evening and the girls were a credit to the school with their conduct and behaviour. The parade was a wonderful display of light and there was a strong sense of community. Photos of the excursion can be seen on our Glennie Boarding Families Facebook page.
Boarder’s Football Excursion to Brisbane
Last Sunday, 9 June the Glennie boarding girls joined forces with Fairholme to attend the Southbank Markets and a Broncos vs Titans Rugby League match. Students took rides on The Wheel of Brisbane, enjoyed street entertainers and enjoyed some lovely food. Suncorp Stadium was packed with fans and they had some great sideline entertainment; however, the Titans were too good on the day.
Next term boarders can look forward to another trip to Brisbane to attend the Markets, GOMA, and to have some time in the city.
