The Glennie School Foundation Junior Years Community Service Award, presented at the Junior Years Awards Presentation Morning each year, recognises a student who displays a sense of self-sacrifice, compassion and service, through regular charitable work within the community. The award includes a trophy and a donation which the recipient gives to the charity of her choice.
In 2020, Chloe Rutledge was recognised for her efforts to develop recycling within Junior Years. She aimed to raise money through the donations of bottles and cans. She was a strong advocate for reducing landfill through effective recycling.
Chloe's charity of choice for her donation was the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). The charity was carefully chosen by the Rutledge Family. Libby Gardiner from the RFDS recently accepted the generous donation from Chloe and the Glennie Foundation. Glennie Foundation Chair, David Russell, and Deputy Head of Junior Years, Jane Roper, joined Choe and Libby for the presentation of the donation.
