A wonderful tradition in the final week of Senior school for the Year 12 girls includes their official induction to the Glennie Old Girls’ Association (GOGA).
The “mocktail” event followed the Mother Daughter Breakfast in last week’s busy week of “last events”.
GOGA committee members, Mrs Christina Drysdale, Mrs Maree Parsons and Ms Rosemary Ogg, welcomed the girls and provided refreshments before the newest old girls received their exclusive GOGA gift. Financial members were also presented with a GOGA badge.
This year’s guest speaker was ABC Country Hour presenter Amy Phillips (GOG 2002) who entertained the girls with her top 10 tips for adulthood. Her insights ranged from finances to dating – and ironing even received a mention!
GOGA President, Mrs Linda Lester (GOG 1987) ended the presentation with a John Lennon quote: “Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears".
GOGA wishes the class of 2020 the very best for their future and hopes they will return to the School for many years to come as they will always be welcome.
