Sun, surf, and scenic studies - what more could you ask for? Senior Geography girls recently spent two days investigating the issues surrounding the sustainable growth of Surfers Paradise. They counted traffic, interviewed locals and tourists and conducted safety audits where they analysed the potential safety risks at multiple sites. An industry expert in geospatial tech was also on hand to help the girls transform the data they collected into usable formats for their upcoming assessment.
Along with all of the work, it was necessary to have a little fun so the girls were able to enjoy some time swimming at Burleigh Beach, riding the light rail and devoured a BBQ breakfast on the beach. I hope they all enjoyed the time away, just as much as I did!
A special thank you must go to Mrs Russell for supervising the experience. She was so very generous with her time and expertise and we thank her for that.
