You may recall us recently sharing a story about Mia Brown, Kristen Davies and Sophie Fleming’s success at the regional QUEST competition hosted by the University of Queensland. After placing 3rd in that competition, they earned the honour of competing at the State event in a field of almost 20 schools.
Mia, Kristen and Sophie conducted further research of Macbeth before the States event to prepare themselves for what they knew would be a more challenging task. Competing as a team and drawing upon their strengths, the job again focused on the areas of Humanities, Science and Mathematics. While they performed well in Mathematics, they admitted they were fascinated by the Science division.
In the task, they were required to pitch a storyline to Netflix and change one pivotal event in Macbeth. Their exciting twist to the story included Banquo becoming King and Macbeth taking his own life. Judges were impressed by their pitch and performance on the day, awarding them another 3rd place win.
The National event will be a fantastic opportunity for Mia, Kristen and Sophie with only three schools competing and they are all-girls teams. Congratulations girls.
