QLD Swimming Championships

Six Glennie girls swam individually at the 2020 Qld Swimming Championships in Brisbane in December.  Our amazing swimmers’ achievements are:

Isabella Kings placed 3rd in the 100m breaststroke, 6th in the 50m breaststroke and 6th in the 200m breaststroke. Isabella has qualified for National Age Championships in April in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.

Keeleigh Cauley-Gleeson swam and achieved many personal bests.  She made finals in 200m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 200 individual medley and 400m individual medley. Keeleigh swam 5th in all her finals. At the championships, she also swam 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke, 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. Keeleigh has qualified for nationals in the 200m and 100m butterfly, 200m and 400m IM. 

Amelia Telford swam in the 200m backstroke.  She swam a personal best of 2:38min, placing 25th.

Cara Cronje swam the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke and made the finals for the 100m backstroke.  Cara has now qualified for nationals for the 100m backstroke.

Mya Gilbert swam 50m backstroke (13th), 100m backstroke (16th), 200m backstroke (21st), 50m butterfly (21st).  Mya swam a PB in the 50m and 200m backstroke.  She has qualified for four events for State Championships in December and will swim in the nationals

Zahra Swoboda swam in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 50m butterfly.  Zahra achieved a PB in each event and halved her ranking in the 200m freestyle (seeded 40 down to 20).  Zahra also swam in club relays in the morning and improved her PBs.
