Due to the dreadful weather on Tuesday we decided it was wiser to keep the Prep students in their classroom and to select some goodies from the Archives in Olliers Cottage, to take to them. The intention was to focus on how life at Glennie has changed through the years and how we keep memories of past times. The girls were particularly fascinated by the slate and slate pencil, the games played with string and the typewriter. They enjoyed writing and typing their names and handling items like an ink well, old tennis racquet and old school case.
From viewing the historic photos, the girls came to the conclusion that although many things have changed over time, some things haven’t changed much at all. The general consensus was that they prefer to have the devices that we take for granted now and they certainly are pleased they are able to wear swimmers and to swim at the beach!
