In Year 10 Agricultural Science, the students are studying a unit on animal production. As part of their studies, they are learning about animal nutrition and how many farmers plant crops for fodder (crops to feed to their livestock). Sorghum can be planted as part of a fodder regime, usually given to cattle. The students are planting Sorghum to determine the appropriate amount of water and fertiliser for this plant to grow most effectively. The girls will achieve this by implementing pot trials using sorghum seeds kindly donated by John Eggins from Advanta seeds Pty Ltd.
