PAC Gig Guide (2)

PAC Gig Guide
Toowoomba Eisteddfod (Part 2)

Weeks 2 - 4

The Glennie School Instrumental Ensembles, Year 7 Jazz and MSY Dance Troupe will perform at the Toowoomba Eisteddfod across weeks 2 to 4 of Term 3.  All Eisteddfod performances will again be held at the Empire Theatre, including the auditorium, studio, Church Theatre and Armitage Theatre. Opportunities to perform enhance the development of ensembles, and as such, all the girls in the ensembles are expected to participate in this competition.  If, for some reason, your daughter cannot be involved, please contact the department as soon as possible either via telephone (4688 8816) or email: pac@glennie.qld.edu.au and also ask your daughter to discuss this with her ensemble conductor.

For all instrumental performances, girls are asked to perform in their formal winter uniform. This includes navy tights, winter skirt, white shirt, tie, and vest. Girls are asked to ensure that their hair is neatly tied back with a navy blue ribbon. Please note that girls will perform in vests and that panamas and blazers will not be required at the theatre. Blazers may be worn to and from the theatre, if it is cold, however, girls will not perform in them. Please ensure blazers and pamamas are clearly named if girls choose to leave these at the PAC when they depart for performances.

For all dance performances, girls will perform in their set dance costume, which has been communicated by your dance teacher. Please note that girls will be given time at school to do their hair and make-up at the PAC, however, girls will travel to and from the theatre wearing full school tracksuit. Girls will then change into their dance costumes at the theatre.

These arrangements are for School ensembles and School dance groups only.  For individual and small group entries, it is the responsibility of parents/students to arrange transport and details regarding their performances.  A complete list of performers, dates and times is available on the PAC foyer, however, we do encourage participants to purchase an official program for their own reference from the Toowoomba Eisteddfod Committee.

Parents who wish to watch their daughters perform will need to purchase tickets for each session.  These will be available through the Empire Theatre box office on Neil Street in the weeks leading up to the Eisteddfod or by clicking here.  Please note that tickets sell quickly for the large group sessions and it is advisable to purchase these in advance to avoid missing out.

Please note that the finishing times provided are an approximation only and we are unable to predict the exact finishing times for each session. Girls are permitted to take a mobile phone with them to the theatre should they wish to text their parents an undated finish time for each session.

Senior Years students who drive to school are asked to have parents' permission and advice regarding their own transport to the theatre should they be driving. Please note that students are not permitted to take additional students in their car. A roll will be marked on each occasion that a bus is used to transport ensembles and groups to the theatre, therefore if for any reason your daughter is not catching the bus on the day please advise the PAC via email or phone.

A full list of performance times for each ensemble and dance troupe, including transport arrangements can be found here.
