Agricultural Science is gaining momentum with the students, and so are the facilities they will access through their studies at Glennie.
The construction of the outdoor classroom is coming along nicely. You may recall seeing this structure outside the Glennie Aquatic Centre before The Clive Berghofer Sports Centre at The Glennie School construction commenced.
The grapevines are growing strong with some already reaching the top of their protective covers ready to reach the trellis wires.
The chicken pen is complete and waiting for our feathered friends to grow big enough to enjoy their new home. The chickens are currently enjoying the warmth of the Sue Edwards Science Centre while they undergo a growth rate trial. Some chickens are older, providing a unique opportunity for students to compare them.
The garden beds are looking lush with corn from a recent watering and fertilisation trial.
Soon the students will launch into a sunflower growing competition run by UQ. Exciting times ahead in Agricultural Science.
