Newtown Cup Touch Football

The Newtown Cup Touch was held on Friday, 11 August against St Ursula’s College. What a wonderful afternoon it was. We started with the U13 and U15 games. The U15 team had a wonderful start to their game against a competitive St Ursula’s team. They held out the first half with an equal score, however, ended up losing 8-2. The girls fought hard and tried their absolute best.

The U13 team had an amazing game, where they tested all their moves and strategies. The girls came away with a 16-0 win and were very graceful in their win. Congratulations to Charlotte Collie who scored six tries.

The Opens had a tough job ahead of them, whoever won the Open game would be the winner of the Newtown Cup, and we can tell you, the girls were very keen to bring it home with them. The girls had a strong game and scored some well-deserved tries. The Opens won 10-0 and were very excited to have the Cup.

We would like to wish all teams the best of luck at All Schools Touch next term.
