Every year, students across Australia are invited to put pen to paper and enter an original song in the Australian Children’s Music Foundation’s annual National Songwriting Competition. Winners receive prize-money which can be allocated towards musical equipment or tuition. Entries for 2019 are due by Thursday, 29 August (Term 3, Week 7). This year, the entry requirement is an MP3 recording and a copy of the lyrics for your piece.

APRA AMCOS Young Songwriter of the Year
$5000 towards musical equipment or tuition for the best songwriter in 2019.
Songwriting School of the Year
$5000 towards musical equipment or resources for the best school entry in 2019.
All entries, years 4 to 12
Allan Kendall Award $1,500. This special judges’ discretionary prize will be awarded for the most creative and original composition of the 2019 Competition.
