The Australian Publishers Association has released its 2019 shortlist of resources to be judged in the 26th Education Publishing Awards Australia. These prestigious awards recognise excellence and innovation within the education publishing industry.
Mrs Crystal Hede, past student and Head of Department - Health and Physical and Education at The Glennie School and fellow local authors Kate Russell and Ron Weatherby are celebrating a dual nomination for their textbook ‘Physical Education for Queensland Units 1 and 2 Student Book’. From 148 nominations, the text has been shortlisted for two awards in the categories: ‘Student Resource – Senior – English/Humanities/Languages/Arts/Technologies/Health and Physical Education’ and ‘Teaching Resource (Secondary)’.
This resource provides in-depth and complete coverage of the new Physical Education syllabus for students and teachers. It delivers key skills and practical tips for success in the subject through media articles, case studies, practical sessions, learning pathways and exam preparation tools.
“It is an honour to be shortlisted for these awards. From day one, our intent has been to support students and teachers alike, so we are thrilled to have our textbook recognised for meeting both of these objectives,” Mrs Hede said.
Crystal, her co-authors and their publisher, Oxford University Press, eagerly await the results which will be announced at an awards function in Melbourne in early September.
