This week The Glennie School boarders participated in a range of celebrations for National Boarding week. Based around this year’s theme of “Why we love boarding”, the girls were asked to create their own video clip sharing their boarding experiences. The winning video can be viewed on the Glennie Boarding Families Facebook page.
On Sunday several senior boarders volunteered for the Rosies Outreach Program and shared a wonderful Mother’s Day lunch with community members.
Monday night saw our annual Alphabet Dinner with family tables being nominated a letter which they had to dress too. This is always a fun-filled night. Prizes were awarded throughout the night with 'O' being the overall the winning table for the evening.
On Wednesday night we reflected on what boarding means to us both as individuals and as a community at our weekly chapel service. The girls talked about being away from home and missing family, but also recognised that they had so many opportunities they could access.
We also revealed our new toaster for the dining room. The girls have the choice to cook their own toast now and they are very excited about this. We will continue to receive feedback from students through our Boarding Student Representative Council Meetings.
Don't forget to jump on the Australian Boarding School Association's Facebook page and vote for our Glennie Entry. It was posted on Tuesday so you may have to scroll through quite a few entries.
Have a great weekend and Happy Boarding.
