It’s been an exciting week at the Performing Arts Centre, unpacking boxes of costumes for leading roles in Mary Poppins, including the authentic Mary Poppins coat and magic props. Rehearsals are flowing smoothly and the large cast numbers are looking fabulous! The heavy dance sections are working really well and it is bound to be a great production.
A letter was sent out via email this week for all cast members outlining costume requirements. All named leads will have their official costume supplied, however, ensemble members are asked to look at the list of what items they will need to source for their roles. Most of this attire can be found at home or at second-hand shops - have fun shopping girls!
Now that we are nearing the end of rehearsals, we ask that all CAST and ORCHESTRA members continue to check the google classroom notices and rehearsal schedules for rehearsals as these will be a little different in the last few weeks. Please ensure that you are also checking the location of our rehearsals as now that we are working with full choreography many of the full cast rehearsals will be held at the Assembly Hall at the Junior Years. When this occurs, we ask that girls are collected from the Junior Years.
Week 8 will see the CAST and ORCHESTRA come together in our Sitzprobe for the first time. This will be really exciting for all members to hear how the orchestra, lead vocals, and ensemble sections work together. This rehearsal will be held at the Performing Arts Centre due to the requirement to utilise the sound desk, microphone and PA set up.
The show will be on the Empire Auditorium stage from Friday, 23 July to Saturday, 24 July. Tickets are due to go on sale on the Empire Theatre box office site from Friday, 25 June.
