Over the coming weeks, you will meet The Glennie School Foundation Directors.
The Glennie School Foundation promotes philanthropy, fellowship and communication through social and business networking opportunities to support the aims of the School. Funds raised by the Foundation are donated to the School to assist with facilities, resources and scholarships. Foundation Directors are volunteers, donors, parents, past parents and friends of Glennie, all of whom seek to assist by financially supporting School projects.
Meet Foundation Director, Mrs Cindy Coggan.
Photo: Cindy Coggan
My name is: Cindy Coggan.
My occupation is: Farmer/Grazier. I was formerly a Registered nurse/Midwife.
My family members are: Husband Phillip, daughters Emily and Sarah and son Tom.
What is your connection with Glennie? I have a past and present daughter. Emily graduated in 2015 and Sarah is in Year 12. What do you find most rewarding about being a Foundation Director? Giving opportunities to other girls to have a Glennie education. I also enjoy being part of a group that is working on big projects such as the Sue Edwards Science Centre and The Clive Berghofer Sports Centre, giving equal opportunities to all Glennie girls.
Why do you think philanthropy is important? Absolutely you should always give back – what comes around goes around.
What is your favourite food? Well, at present I would have to say anything that I don’t have to cook myself. I love the lemon meringue pie my girls make and my son Tom’s spaghetti bolognese.
What did you want to be when you grew up? That, I am still discovering.
