A couple of years ago, Glennie re-imagined before and after school tutoring in the Middle and Senior Years by creating the Learning Hub - a learner-centred space for active and cooperative learning. The aim of the Learning Hub was to facilitate an environment where students could work together with others to solve problems, discuss, explain, debate and brainstorm. Each term teachers have worked to create an environment that nurtures independent, active and collaborative student thinking and learning.
As we resume the Learning Hub in Term 3, we aim to additionally take on board the lessons learned from remote schooling. Specifically:
Opening hours for the Learning Hub as well as the timetable of sessions for Term 3 will be published to students by the start of Week 2. A copy of the timetable is available here.
Understanding ATAR - Information Evening for Parents of Students in Years 10 and 11
On Monday, Glennie also hosted a QTAC webinar for parents of girls in Years 10 and 11 about the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). The webinar provided information about ATAR eligibility, calculations, inter-subject scaling and tertiary entrance procedures that are part of the new QCE system in Queensland.
For parents who missed this webinar, the evening was recorded and is available in the Subject Selection page of the Academic Life @ Glennie Google site on the Portal.
