Jazz Under the Jacaranda (1) (1)

Our lunchtime concert this term was an opportunity for girls to self nominate to perform to a relaxed audience outside under the jacaranda trees on the PAC lawn.

Great performers will experience a flawless performance on one or more occasions throughout their journey; one that is truly breathtaking. However, it is very important to remember that we do not normally get to this level without some stepping stones along the way.

We love our lunchtime concerts at Glennie: they are a great opportunity for the girls to come together and perform outside for their friends without the pressure of an adjudication or a mark. It is lovely to see the courage of younger girls stepping up and having a great time performing at lunchtime - and equally wonderful to hear their friends cheering for them as they courageously stepped up to the stand.

Congratulations to the girls who performed at our lunchtime concert this week. Well done girls and thank you to the Arts Committee for coordinating this performance opportunity.

“Life without playing music is inconceivable for me. I live my daydreams in music; I see my life in terms of music. If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. Life is like a piano: what you get out of it depends on how you play it.”
