Isabel and Alice Accepted to Queensland Conservatorium of Music

Congratulations to Year 12 musicians, Isabel Lanigan and Alice Armytage, for their early acceptance to the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Isabel Langian, also known as "Elle" from our MSY musical Legally Blonde, has been granted acceptance into the Bachelor of Musical Theatre. Isabel will study Singing, Dancing, Acting, Music History and Materials of Music (Music Theatre). The Conservatorium has world-renowned teaching staff, and previous graduates are now starring in shows all over Australia and around the world. Post-school, Isabel plans to work professionally as a music theatre performer in Australia before travelling the world's stages with the dream of one day performing in a show on Broadway. This is a particularly difficult course to gain acceptance into with limited spaces for students across Australia.

2019 Arts Vice Captain, Alice Armytage, will be studying for a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Popular Music on Electric Bass, also at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Alice is well known for her wonderful work on both Alto and Tenor Saxophone in many of our ensembles and the Musical Band. Earlier this year Alice was accepted into the Young Conservatorium (Music Technology) program at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music which involved a trip to Brisbane every Saturday during term time for the entire year. Alice was offered the choice for early acceptance into either the Bachelor of Popular Music and the Bachelor of Creative Technology and has chosen Popular Music for the diversity of this program. After completing her degree, she intends to complete a Masters degree in Audio Engineering and Sound Production. Alice’s future work aspirations are in the fields of music production, audio engineering, songwriting and performance.

Well done, Isabel and Alice! We look forward to hearing your work in future years to come.
