There were stories of great friendships, hijinks, and a lasting gratitude at the Glennie Old Girls’ Association (GOGA) reunion earlier this month.
A large cohort from the Class of ‘69 were among the guests at the annual reunion event.
Thanks to the three boarders, the Old Girls were treated to a tour of the school and many couldn’t believe the quality of the contemporary facilities.
The Old Girls entertained their tour guides with wonderful stories from their days at Glennie, especially what they got up to in the boarding dormitories.
A common theme was their gratitude for the education they received at Glennie, which went beyond “book learning”. Many remarked that the values instilled in them and the strong friendships from Glennie have been so appreciated over the decades.
A highlight on the Reunion Sunday was the chapel service conducted by Old Girl and former Glennie teacher, Zoe Browne, assisted by current teacher and Zoe’s former classmate, Emma Kann.
GOGA would also like to thank Mrs Matherson, the Development Office, and Kitchen teams for their support in putting the successful weekend together.
Mrs Linda Lester
President of GOGA
