World Prematurity Day is observed on Tuesday, 17 November each year to raise awareness to preterm birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families worldwide. The official colour for the day is purple which is perfect as Glennie loves the colour purple.
At Toowoomba Hospital, the Neonatal Unit celebrates World Prematurity Day in a number of ways. They decorate the unit using the purple theme, the staff wear purple and the parents are treated to a purple-themed morning tea. The babies also receive a gift - a purple blanket.
This year, Glennie's Hospitality students helped out with the preparation and delivery of morning tea. Take a look at the delicious items lovingly prepared by our students and Mrs Johns. Well done girls.
