Andrews Cup Swimming was held on Tuesday, 12 March at the Sleeman Centre in Chandler. This competition saw an energised team of Junior Years swimmers travel down to Chandler. The competition was tough with wonderful efforts by all schools. The Glennie team put their heart and soul into the event, even swimming up in divisions to see every race filled. The girls swam well, giving their absolute best and showing true Glennie spirit. The Glennie team came away with some impressive individual efforts and an overall placing of 9th. The Springfield Cup had to be the highlight of the day with our four best swimmers chosen to race the 4 x 50 metres Freestyle Relay. The hype in the centre was incredible, with cheering, war cries and pom poms flying everywhere, an unforgettable moment for all girls involved. Sadly, our girls did not finish top 5 of this race. However, their determination to finish in style and never give up is truly commendable.
Congratulations to all swimmers, you were INCREDIBLE!
Congratulations must also go to Mrs Varley and her team for organising such a wonderful event.
