Lesson 2 from the Allblacks - Adapt

James Kerr believes there are four stages for organisational change:

  1. a case for change
  2. a compelling picture of the future
  3. a sustained capability to change and
  4. a credible plan to execute.

He goes on to express that momentum changes in a heartbeat and any organisation, even the ones at the top of their game, need to know when to reinvent themselves, or in rugby terms, ‘go for the gap’.

At the 2020 Speech Day, I quoted Charles Darwin who said, “It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change”.

And this is what we must do at Glennie.  We are, as a community, working on The Glennie School Strategic Plan: A New Educational Era 2021 - 2026. The world as we know it has changed and so too must we.

We are in an exciting phase and we are ‘going for the gap’. We are continually adapting so that we may best serve our girls in this constantly changing world.

Wishing you all an enjoyable second long weekend.
